Volunteer Guiding

I am a member of “Kanko Assistant Hiroshima,” a local volunteer guide group. I work as a volunteer guide in Shukkeien Garden once a month.
Shukkeien Garden was built in 1620 as a garden villa for the Lord of Hiroshima. The name means a “miniaturized landscape garden.” This name reflects the concept that various scenes of Japanese culture and spirituality are realized within walking distance.
In the center of the garden, there is a pond representing the sea. We invite you to stimulate your imagination and enjoy strolling like a Daimyo (feudal lord)!
We provide on-site guiding services upon request. If you see me or other volunteer guides in the garden, please feel free to ask for a guide.

Passing the Baton of Peace to the Next Generation

Since 2012, Hiroshima City has been training “A-bomb Legacy Successors” to ensure the survivors’ stories and wishes are never forgotten.
Since August 2025, I have been sharing the story of Mr. Shunichiro Arai, who entered the city after the atomic bombing on the day and was exposed to radiation at the age of 13.
While I currently give lectures in Japanese, I am preparing to share this story in English to reach a global audience.
I am honored to carry the baton from Mr. Arai and will continue to pass his wishes for peace on to the next generation.
