Profile

Hi, I’m Yuki!
I am a certified guide in Hiroshima and an A-bomb Legacy Successor, working to pass on the stories of survivors to the next generation. I work for a local consulting firm, doing research and planning for our community.

To be honest, looking at data and processing it strains my eyes! But I love gathering different pieces of information and finding the real story. I use these skills to plan original tours with my fellow professional guides.

My goal is simple: I want everyone who visits Hiroshima, Peace Memorial City, to leave feeling, “I’m so glad I came here.”
I look forward to sharing this city with you!

From the Office to the Streets of Hiroshima

Before the pandemic, my life was a cycle of home and the office, with short summer trips as my only escape. When the world paused, I decided to rediscover my own city. I studied to become a certified Hiroshima Regional Guide and an A-bomb Legacy Successor.

The Focus of Our Visitors

In Hiroshima, over 70% of international travelers come from the West—including Europe, North America, and Australia. I think that these visitors have a profound interest in the history of the atomic bomb and Hiroshima’s post-war reconstruction.

Beyond the Typical “One-Day Pattern”

Most visitors follow a tight schedule: the Peace Memorial Park, Miyajima, and an Okonomiyaki lunch. It’s a busy day, and I often wonder what kind of memories they take home. Hiroshima, once a military hub, has rebuilt itself as a “Peace Memorial City.” I felt there was a deeper story to tell, away from the crowds.

The Sanctuary of Mitaki-dera Temple

This is why I created the Mitaki Peace Tour. Within 2km of the hypocenter, most houses were destroyed and burnt down by the atomic bomb. Mitaki is located about 3km from the hypocenter. Mitaki-dera Temple stands as a sanctuary that preserves the spirit of tolerance and prays for peace. I developed this script by cross-checking newspaper archives and public records of the atomic bombing, and by learning directly from the monk. Then, I refined it through field rehearsals with my fellow certified guides to ensure the best experience for you.

Local Hearts

We may not speak English as fluently as some international guides, but as locals, we share a deep, personal connection to this land. We launched on Viator and TripAdvisor in October 2025. But, even for me, our small tour was difficult to find among the vast tours on their sites.

That is why I created this tour and this website. I want you to find us through a shared desire for a meaningful journey. Our tour begins at the Peace Memorial Park and takes you to the hidden sanctuary of Mitaki. Join us, and let’s discover the hidden heart of Hiroshima together.
