Mission 1 to 6

Mission 1: Cross an A-bombed Bridge
Within 2 km of the hypocenter, there are five A-bombed bridges. Walk across one of these historic structures and feel the resilience of Hiroshima beneath your feet!

Mission 2: Find an A-bomb Artifact Signboard
In central Hiroshima, there are 45 A-bomb Artifact Signboards to pass down the facts of the atomic bombing. Keep your eyes peeled! Find at least one of them and read the explanation.

Mission 3: Meet a Local Volunteer Guide
Find a friendly volunteer guide at Shukkeien Garden or Peace Memorial Park. Ask them a question and get a special story for free!
(If you cannot find a guide, buy some fish food at Shukkeien Garden and feed the beautiful Japanese carp! That will also complete Mission 3.)

Mission 4: Receive Energy from an A-bombed Tree
Visit a “Hibaku Jumoku” (A-bombed tree) that survived the atomic bombing. Look up at the tree and soak in its incredible life power.

Mission 5: Pose with Mori Terumoto
Head to Hiroshima Castle to find the statue of Mori Terumoto, a powerful feudal lord and the builder of the castle. Take a creative photo with him! The clue is to search the south side of the moat.

Mission 6: Taste One Local Hiroshima Delicacy
Please try at least one local specialty! Whether it’s Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki, oyster dishes, Anagomeshi (conger eel rice), Onomichi ramen, Hiroshima-style tsukemen, Momiji Manju, or Hiroshima’s sake.

9:20 AM – Depart from Hiroshima Station
9:30 AM – Sakae-bashi Bridge

9:45 AM – 10:45 AM Shukkeien Garden (60 mins)

 Tip: Volunteer guides start working at 10:00 AM. If you are lucky, you can find volunteer guides wearing green outfits and name tags. Some of them can speak English.
11:00 AM – 11:30 AM Hiroshima Castle (30 mins)
 Find the statue of Mori Terumoto.

11:45 AM – Peace Memorial Park Area / Lunch

Bonus Missions (Optional Challenges)

Bonus Mission A: Sit on a “Gangi” and Watch the River
Find a “Gangi”—the historic stone river steps built along Hiroshima’s riverbanks. Take a seat like a local, relax, and enjoy the peaceful flow of the river.

Bonus Mission B: Ride the Local Streetcar “Hiroden”
Hop on a Tram in central Hiroshima. They are called moving museums because you can see various types of cars in the same city.

Bonus Mission C: Buy a Souvenir from a Pre-war Shop
Visit one of these local shops in the city center that survived the atomic bombing. Buy a special souvenir as a memory of your trip to Hiroshima.

Tatsuya (達屋)(Map)
A family-run Japanese confectionery shop with over 100 years of history. Try their beautiful, traditional seasonal sweets.

Wataoka Taigaen (綿岡大雅園) (Map)
A historic green tea shop where you can experience authentic Japanese tea and local hospitality.

Akamatsu Pharmacy (赤松薬局)(Map)
An incredible pharmacy that has stood in the same location since 1615.

Fukuya Department Store (福屋)(Map)
A beloved local department store built in 1938. The building survived the atomic bombing and was used as a temporary relief station.
